Bristol technicians for impressive Cryotherapy!

Though the name of this therapy sounds awfully futuristic, in reality it has been around for quite some time. Bristol cryotherapy offers a whole list of possible treatment options for everything from localised skin issues through to muscle pains, swelling relief and even pain relief for sprains. Originally a specialised treatment that was dermatologically tested as the best way to remove warts and other skin lesions, it has since developed.

A quick and effective treatment!

In this localised process, the lesions have grown on the surface of that skin, usually due to some form of viral infection, and more oft than not, can become rather unsightly. These lesions can come from other places however, with Seborrhoeic keratosis, a from of skin abnormality, warty skin growths and sun damaged skin lesions being just a few possible reasons. Cryotherapy freezes these lesions at the surface using liquid nitrogen, effectively cutting them off from the main body of the skin and making them easy to remove.

A range of treatments now available!

Specialist clinics offer this localised version of course, but with the progression of technology making other applications for this treatment available, it is no surprise that they make these options a part of their menus. In essence cryotherapy has grown, becoming an encompassing term for treatments that range from ice pack application, ice baths and cold therapy right through to the use of an actual Cryotherapy chamber.

An extremely cold service for beneficial results!

Clinics equipped with this fantastic piece of equipment are able to offer full body treatments that involve exposing the client to extremely cold and dry air. The temperatures possible in these chambers go below -100°C and the treatments last from between two and four minutes, with four minutes being the maximum time possible. Utterly unique due to their strange and specific nature, this really does stand out amongst treatment options in Bristol.

What does it involve?

These machines will use one of two methods to reach their insane sub-zero temperatures. The most common option is the application of liquid nitrogen. This creates a rapid cooling that reaches the required temperature at high speeds, making it difficult to regulate. The second option, whilst slower, is a far more controllable system. This version of the machine will use pre-refrigerated air, pumping it into the chamber at a steady pace and bringing it to the desired temperature quickly. Both techniques will of course have the same final result, cooling the cryotherapy chamber to the desired temperature at a rapid rate.

The therapy itself requires that the client stand within the chamber wearing only light clothes. Men will wear shorts alongside gloves, ear coverings and a mask that protects the nose and mouth, whereas women will wear the same with the addition of a crop top. Both will also wear dry shoes and socks. These coverings minimise the risk of cold related injuries, protecting the appropriate areas in order to keep the treatment safe and utterly effective.
